In America, the early performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the prodigy child category. However, for a child with Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and a loving family, they had innate talents. Maureen was welcomed into this caring haven on August 17, 1920 at Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Her mother, Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and had shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons The rest of the family rounded out this wonderful family. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and played rough, athletic games when she was young. Her passion for sports was matched by an equally natural gift to perform.
